Different ways to dress up windows
The windows are an essential part in decorating the space so we must study how we dress them. On the subject, there are several things we need to consider. More practical aspects such as insulation, the type of material it comprises of, security, the type of opening, and other factors are important when actually choosing a window. So, once you have chosen the type of windows, the time comes to dress it up. The key is the curtains, where there is a wide range of products with varying aesthetics, comfort and lightness. Here are some of the best ways to dress up your windows.
Venetian blinds or traditional curtains are perfectly suitable and it is only necessary to choose the best option for each room and decor.
Pay attention to style marks of the fabric. If you are looking for a romantic and cozy atmosphere, it is better to choose a sheer fabric such as gauze, threads or muslin. If a more casual and youthful atmosphere is preferred, you can choose lonetas or printed cottons.
Venetian is defined as all those who have lamas curtains. The big advantage is that they are the only ones able to graduate outside light and control the visibility. They may be of wood or aluminum.
The aluminum is the most economical choice in covering the windows of a room. They provide a cooler environment, but fit perfectly into studios, offices and even in youth rooms. The price varies depending on grade and width of the blade. The wood is considerably more expensive. They are also much heavier curtains and therefore have a disadvantage because they cannot cover areas larger than 4 square meters. However, the big advantage is that they fit in even the most classic decorations.
The blind is a type of simple curtain that fits all environments. It is not as flashy as a portiere, but it is the perfect solution for small rooms. Their placement is also very simple. One drawback is that it highlights the need for a space of 20 or 25 cm between the window frame and roof, to fully fold the fabric so you can open the window. The style of the shade depends on the fabric and the chosen system. There are several folding systems. The fold is ideal for youth bedrooms. You can finish low in waves with fancy trimmings or other fabrics as a fretwork, for a personal touch. Within this system, it can also be classified and be called the roll, in which the folded fabric creates a loop and then you can tie with a decorative ribbon. The paqueto system is similar to folding but has no horizontal rods and the appearance in much more delicate and casual. It is perfect with transparent fabric yarn. Japanese folding systems resemble the paqueto system, with the difference being that these fold over each other. They are suitable for verandas and large windows with three or more leaves. This is the portion of the curtain that is covering part of the window.
Traditional curtains are reserved for the more traditional decor. They are made with boards, but folds can also be performed. If you sew up the sides, it is a bit more casual and can provide more volume to the curtain. You may want a more modern feel, so put up curtains that remain open during the day and closed in the evening. If the decor of the room is classical, portiere fabrics like damask, grosgrain and velvet are currently very fashionable.
