When putting your home on the market, it is important to stage it so it seems inviting and beautiful to potential buyers. Many sellers overlook the staging process for their home, and this usually results in a delay of it selling. If you want to sell your home fast, follow these simple tips to help stage your home.

Bedrooms

Bedrooms are often looked over, and many sellers leave them as is. The problem is, they may be leaning toward one gender instead of being neutral. Make sure that all bedrooms incorporate colors that are considered neutral. This will make less work for the new home owner if they don’t have children or children of the same gender.

De-Clutter

Clutter is a huge problem for most homes on the market. Even if you think your home doesn’t have clutter, take a closer look and get rid of anything that isn’t necessary. Any excessive decorations can make a room seem chaotic and potential buyers want to feel relaxed, not busy! De-clutter your home, and this will greatly improve the chances of it selling.

Small Bathrooms

Small bathrooms can be revamped by simply adding a light, neutral color of paint, or using a pedestal sink instead of a large counter. Apply this rule to small, guest bathrooms, and half baths. If your master bath happens to be on the small side, you still want to have a counter in it as it provides space for essential bathrooms items.

Outdated Cabinets

Freshen up old, outdated cabinets with a fresh coat of paint. Simply painting your old cabinets and adding new updated hardware will make your cabinets look brand new! You don’t have to spend large amounts of money on replacing them, go the simple route.

Lighting

Make sure your home is properly lighted throughout. This is especially important for those rooms that seem closed off and don’t have much natural light coming in. Having plenty of light makes the room feel larger and can actually make potential home buyers feel happier. The general rule of thumb is 100 watts of light for every 50 square feet in your home. Make sure there is variety in lighting fixtures as well.
